One of our clients, a major international IT Managed Services Provider, has retained us to find a great leader for their Service Delivery organization – leading a staff of 500 technical resources. The position will report to the President and COO and will be leading resources dedicated to large major clients, as well as leading shared resources that support the broad base of clients. It is a strategic and high impact role as it leads the technical resources that support the company’s revenue stream. The organization includes Program Managers, Project Managers, Professional Services Engineers, NOC, and Service Desk professionals. This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the largest and fast growing MSP’s in a strategic, high impact, and career advancing role.
The Director of Service Delivery leads the operations and service delivery of all areas of information technology infrastructure for their clients by establishing strategy, performance standards, operations planning, budgets, personnel management, project management, vendor management and client relationships. The Director of Service Delivery will oversee a senior team of IT professionals including Program Managers responsible for a portfolio of high-profile client programs and projects (“Dedicated Service Delivery”). In addition, he/she will oversee the “Shared Service Delivery” organization, including the PMO, Professional Services, Service Desk, and the NOC.
The Director of Service Delivery is a senior and strategic role for the organization. It reports to the President & COO and it will lead a large group of technical resources; approximately 500 technical resources across two key organizations – 1) the Dedicated Service Delivery organization with technical resources that are dedicated to key client accounts, and 2) the Shared Service Delivery organization which is comprised of teams for Service Desk, Network Operation Center, and PMO resources.
Must have 5+ years successfully leading technology delivery or technology operations for a complex organization or business unit (complex, business critical programs)
Must have 5+ years of direct people management experience, and experience managing geographically distributed teams
3+ years managing large teams within complex organizations is preferred — having worked for a technology development or a managed service provider company (MSP)
Must have strong cross functional leadership skills to align process, projects, and people to meet business goals in cross-functional team settings.
Must have demonstrated past experience in defining and measuring team success via data-driven metrics & reporting
Must have superior verbal and written communication skills: internally, client-facing, and with C-Level stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field
PMP or similar certification is considered “nice to have”
